Why factor versioning matters this much
A concrete example.
Without versioning
You issue your 2026 report with the current electricity factor. In March 2027 a new factor is published and your system updates it. Someone opens your 2026 report and the number changed on its own. You cannot explain why.
With versioning
Every line stores the exact value it used, its version and its source. The 2026 report still says the same thing in 2029, and you can also show which factor it was and where it came from.
